摘要
牛津系列英语学习词典在当今世界上具有广泛的学术影响,而其学术渊源可以追溯到一百五十年前的《牛津英语词典》。从1857年至今,该词典经历了第一版,一卷本补遗,四卷本补编,第二版及在建第三版。在各个演变版本中,历史背景不同,时代风气相异,编纂群体更迭,但其理想信仰、思路理念则经受了时间的考验,得以延续、继承和发扬。
The Oxford English learning dictionary series is globally renowned for its scholarly excellence.Since one hundred and fifty years ago when the first edition of Oxford English Dictionary was published,it has been revised many times.The paper undertakes to review the dictionary＇s initiation,creation,continuation and innovation in terms of historical perspectives.Through a close look at its compilation background,theory and practice,a clear line of compiling concepts can be drawn in the course of its compilation history.
