摘要
在对比标准英语母语者和中国英语学习者在连续语流和非连续语流中发出的英语双元音的基础上,本文分析了中国大学生的英语双元音时长特征,以及产生这些特征的原因。结果表明,从总时长上来看,中国大学生发出的英语双元音受汉语相似音的影响,普遍短于标准英语发音人的发音;在发汉语中没有对应的英语双元音时,中国大学生的发音时长与标准英语母语者相差不大,表明他们注意到了这些音的时长特征并延长了发音。从双元音内部时长比例来看,两组受试者没有显著区别,表明中国大学生已经掌握了英语双元音的内部时长比例。
By comparing the diphthongs produced by native RP speakers and Chinese EFL college students in continuous and non- continuous speech, this paper probes into the characteris- tics of vowel length of the diphthongs produced by Chinese col- lege students and the reasons for the characteristics. The result shows the vowel length of the diphthongs similar to Chinese is in general shorter than the length produced by RP native speak- ers, which can be attributed to the influence of Chinese vowellength. However, the length of the diphthongs unfound in Chi- nese is very close to those by native RP speakers, showing that the subjects have realized the characteristics of the sounds and lengthened their pronunciation. In terms of the internal duration ratio of the diphthongs, the two groups show no significant differences, which means Chinese college students have mas- tered the internal duration ratio of the English diphthongs.
