Phytochemical investigation on the whole plant of Elephantopus tomentosus Linn. led to the isolation of two new sesquiterpene lactones, tomenphantopin E （1） and tomenphantopin F （2）. The new compounds were completely elucidated using a combination of 1D, 2D NMR technique （COSY, HSQC, HMBC and NOSEY）, and HREIMS analysis.
