摘要
虚拟现实（VR）是一个正在发展的高新技术。虚拟制造（VM）是VR技术和计算机仿真技术在制造领域的发展及应用，是敏捷制造的关键技术之一，它试图将与制造有关的各项技术在一个共同的平台上集成在一起。本文介绍了虚拟制造的概念、特征、体系结构及其在先进制造技术上的应用实例。
Virtual reality(VR) is a new developing high technology. Virtual Manufacturing(VM) is the development and application of VR and computer simulation in the field of manufacturing. It aims at integrating diverse technologies related to manufacturing under a common umbrella. The definition, characteristics and architecture of virtual manufacturing and some examples of its application in advanced manufacturing technology are presented in this paper.
