The novel Sange written by Dazai Osamu was published in magazine "Sinnwakoudo" in March, 1944. This novel is written for cherishing young friends died in World War II. Surprisingly, few scholars focused on Sange in the critics of Dazai' literary studies although the novel had close connection with the current situation. This dissertation will discuss Dazai Osamu's war viewpoints and Sange from three different angles: magazine features, speech tendency in the era and two "die" of characters in this novel.
