The Beijing municipal government has continued its policy of opening certain public services to tender, and as of the end of April, 1,629 proposed projects were ready for the audit stage. Public organiza- tions that win the tender for the projects will be allocated funding from the 1 billion yuan （US$158.7 million） fund set aside by Beijing this year for purchasing services.
