The 22.2 multichannel sound system is used by the Ultra High -Definition TV （UHDTV） system which is developed by NHK Science ＆ Technical Research Laboratories. The 22.2 multiehmmel system is described, and the advantages of the 22.2 muhichannel sound are discussed. The practical application of 22.2 muhiehannel sound system is also described.
