摘要
从结构主义和弗洛伊德心理学的角度出发探究美国作家霍桑小说《红字》叙事结构的双重性及其成因发现,这部小说在表层结构上是一个关于罪与罚的故事,而在深层结构上则是对美国传统主流道德观念合理性的质疑。根据弗洛伊德的"作家情感投射"说,这种双重结构乃是霍桑本人矛盾心理在其创作中的反映。
From structuralism and Freudian psycho-analysis, two levels of narrative structure of Hawthorne＇s The Scarlet Letter and the causes for them show that the novel is a story of sin and penalty on the surface structure; on the deep structure, it raises doubts about the rationality of mainstream moral values of American tradition. According to Freud, the double structures reflect the author＇s ambivalence in his creation.
