摘要
许渊冲以展现《楚辞》的艺术价值以及传播优秀的中华传统文化为翻译目的,更加注重英语世界读者的接受问题以及由此产生的社会影响。他采用以归化为主的翻译策略,将直译与意译相结合,在灵活变通中尽量发挥译语优势,使译诗既能传达原诗的精神风貌又符合英语的行文规范。许译《楚辞》传情达意,音韵和谐,形式工整,简洁流畅,使人感心、感耳、感目,其中渗透的"三美论"(意美、音美、形美)体现了西方文化的求真精神以及中国文化的求美传统,在很大程度上可以看作是具有中国特色的文学翻译理论。
This thesis makes analysis of XU Yuan-chong＇s English version of Elegies of the South from the viewpoint of beauty of meaning,sound and form in micro level.The purpose of it is to probe into the theoretical and practical significance of ＂Three Beauty Theory＂ in translation and study of classical poetry.XU Yuan-chong＇s translation purpose is to express the source text＇s artistic beauty and spread excellent traditional Chinese culture.Therefore,he pays more attention to readers＇ acceptance and the related social effect.Taking domestication as the main focus,he combines literal translation and free translation.Moreover,he tries his best to develop some advantages of the target language through accommodation,and makes his translation not only convey the spirit of the source text but also conform to English norms.XU Yuan-chong＇s translation appeals to the mind,eyes and ears of the reader by means of reflecting appropriate meaning and affection,harmonious sound,well-knit form,and simple smooth language.＂Three Beauty Theory＂ in it shows pursuit of sincerity in the Western culture and pursuit of beauty in Chinese culture.To some extent it can be considered as literary translation theory which has Chinese features.
