This paper, based on the data oflMB ＂2011 Annual Report on Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships＂ , analyses the features, patterns and trends of piracy in resent years, introdtzces the experience gained by shipping industry in preventing piracy attacks, discusses the basic principles for dealing with piracy, and also illustrates usefill practice in combating pirates.
