Sand compaction pile barge is drastically different from conventional pile driving barge. This paper elaborates the research and development of a 86m sand compaction pile barge, covering main topics such as the general arrangement and stability in small scale, strutcural design, sand pile planting system, machinery, electrical design features and monitoring, so as to provide some reference for further study of this ship type..
