摘要
文章对汉语成语提出了自己的看法,认为"成语"本身应该有两个意义:以前是"现成之语",现在是"习用之词"。汉语成语不是很早就产生了,其特点也不是受《诗经》的影响。汉语成语是汉语词汇由单音节发展成双音节,进而发展成四音节的必然结果,书面性质的成语不是典型成语,口语性质的成语才是典型成语。
This paper holds that the Chinese ＂chengyu（成语）＂has two meanings： its early use refers to ＂existing phrase＂ and now ＂popular set phrase＂. The Chinese ＂chengyu（成语）＂ did not emerge very early and was not under the influence of The Book of Songs. It is a result of natural development from the monosyllabic to the disyllabic, and finally to the quadric-syllabic. It is the colloquial ＂chengyu（成语）＂ rather than the written ＂chengyu（成语）＂ that is the typical.
