摘要
本文着重研究哈代的最后一部小说《无名的裘德》在西方评论界从争议到认同的接受过程,同时探讨了它在中国的接受过程。从中国与西方的不同接受视角中,指出通过研究这部小说在中西的批评接受,可以深入地认识英国维多利亚社会后期新旧理念的对抗、西方社会女性主义的兴起以及文学理论的蓬勃发展,更可以管窥中国本土批评体系的构建。
This paper focuses on the reception of Thomas Hardy＇s last novel Jude the Obscure. Tracing the history of critical studies of the novel in the west and in China, it provides an overview of var- ious interpretations through the decades. Through the comparison of the studies in China and those in the west, it sheds some new light on the conflict of different values in late Victorian Age, the advent of femi- nism, the development of literary theories, and the evolution of China＇ s critical discourse in foreign liter- ature studies.
