艺术、体育类院校大学英语教师对教学现状的认知调查 被引量:8

The Status Quo of English Teaching by College English Teachers in Arts and Sports Colleges

摘要 教师的专业素质发展是大学英语教学改革成功的关键,也是学科长远发展的关键。对北京地区艺术体育院校展开调查,考察了这些高校大学英语教师的教育背景、对学生英语学习的认识以及教学理念等情况。研究结果表明1)目前艺体类院校英语教师教学任务繁重;2)教师年龄分布和性别结构不合理;3)教师的教学观念、教学模式不能较好地满足学生的需求。建议加大艺体类院校英语教师的培养力度,切实提高教师的教育、教学和科研水平,以确保教学改革顺利进行。 The development of English teachers plays a key role in the reform of English teaching,and it also serves as a key factor in the discipline development in the long run.The present study makes an investigation about teachers' academic qualification,personal understanding on students' language learning,and teaching beliefs etc.It is shown from our analysis that 1) English teachers in arts and sports colleges bear a heavier burden of work than they can afford;2) there are too many young faculty members and male teachers and female teachers are out of proportion;and 3) teachers' teaching beliefs and teaching styles fail to better satisfy students' learning needs.It is suggested that more effective measures be taken to strengthen teacher education programs in arts and sports majors so that teachers' academic qualifications,teaching and researching levels get improved,thus college English teaching reform being carried out efficiently.
