关于石涛籍贯,三百多年来出现种种错误观点,如"湖北武昌人"或"湖南人"之说、"广西梧州人"之说、"江西南昌人"之说、"江宁人"之说、"河南人"之说、"桂林全州人"之说等。其错误根源在于不按正确标准来确定石涛籍贯。按"贯"和"籍贯"的正确定义之标准,又按石涛本派系字辈排行,石涛的籍贯当属桂林。
Concerning the native place of Shi Tao,there have many wrong opinions in three hundred years.Native places like 'Wuchang of Hubei province','Hunan province','Wuzhou of Guangxi province','Nanchang of Jiangxi province','Jiangning city','Henan province','Quanzhou of Guangxi province' and so on.The reason why they were all wrong was the wrong standard they had been followed confirming the native place.According to the standard definitions of 'ancestor's native place' and 'native place',besides the generation name of Shi Tao,researcher confirmed that the real native place of him is Guilin of Guangxi province.
