欧阳修关心北宋边事，且积极建言。他把丰财积粟当作加强边防的前提，并通过选将练兵、调整御边之策达到消弭边患的目的。欧阳修对北宋边事的参与和关注。
Ouyang Xiu showed much concern on the border incidents in the Northern Song Dynasty and made advice and suggestion actively.He believed wealth gathering and food accumulation were premises to strengthen frontier defence.Through selecting geneal and drilling troops and adjusting strategy of frontier defence,the state could achieve the purpose of border's safety and security.Ouyang Xiu's intense patriatic conciouseness was well embodied in his participation and worry on the border defence in the Northern Song Dynasty.
