The SJ-5 (Shijian-5) spacecraft is the first China-made satellite for scientific research with theCAS as the user. Blasting off from the TaiyuanSatellite Launch Center on May 10, l999, the SJ-5completed its main experimental tasks on scheduleafter a 90-day-long earth-orbit flight.
