摘要
There is an ever growing number of part-time teachers in higher vocational education due to the expansion of recruitment of students, especially English teachers. This is raising concerns about how they are managed, and supported in their teaching role. In this article, the significance of employing part-time English teachers is discussed.The main findings of a study of good practice in the management and support of part-time English teachers in Guangdong higher vocational education are summarized. Three areas of support are analyzed: college policies and practices; systems for monitoring and evaluation; and formal and informal support measures in departments. The key processes and the problematic issues in each of these three areas are discussed and suggestions are made about the way forward.
高职院校的扩招导致高职院校师资紧缺,尤其是英语课教师。但由于其自身发展的局限性、受国家经济实力的制约和自身可持续发展的需要,高职院校走专职教师和兼职教师相结合的道路将是英语师资队伍建设中的一个长期战略选择。本文以高职院校为切入点,论述了高职院校聘任英语兼职教师的积极意义;并从学院对兼职教师的管理制度、教学质量的监测与评估制度以及系采取的管理措施三个方面讨论分析了目前高职院校英语兼职教师的管理状况,从而对如何管理与支持高职院校英语兼职教师提出建议。
