摘要
为监测古树健康状况和为古树复壮措施提供指导,通过使用探地雷达探测了一株古侧柏的根系在水平方向和垂直方向的分布。结果显示:探地雷达对于处于地表浅层0~60 cm的根系分布有较好的探测作用,对更深处的粗根也能探测,探测结果和实际观察相比在水平分布上大致相同,但无法探测交叉或重叠根系。总体来说探测的可能性随着根系直径的增加而增大。在改善天线的灵敏性和后期数据处理软件的基础上,探地雷达在研究古树根系分布、为古树复壮提供依据方面具有良好的应用前景。
In order to monitor the health conditions of veteran trees and provide guidance for reinvigorating measures, a ground- penetrating radar (GPR) was used to detect the horizontal and vertical distributions of roots of a veteran oriental arborvitae (Platycladus orientalis Franco. ). Result showed that GPR could detect the distribution of roots in the surface soil at 0-60 cm depth. It could also detect large-size roots in deeper soil layers. The detected horizontal distribution of roots was largely in agreement with the observed result. However, GPR could not detect overlapped and crossed roots. In general, the performance of GPR got better when the diameters of roots were larger. With improvements in the sensitivity of antennas and pest-processing software of data, GPR can be used to study the root distribution of veteran trees and provide necessary information on the restoration of the vigor of veteran trees.
