摘要
中庸与妥协是政治家必备的品质,以恻隐之心臧否是非,将高致与雅量统一起来,才可能完成政治与人格价值的自然结合。司马光及其元祐集团是不具备这种品质的。这种人格根基的错失,虽然使他们赢得了文化语境中的"人的尊严",可惜他们没有也不愿意解决事关民众生计的土地问题,只能停留在士大夫阶层并结成群体来与王安石政治集团争是非。任何的尊严,只有当它处在社会价值的境域之中时,才可能共享生命的意义。
The doctrine of Golden Mean and compromise is the essential qualities of politicians. Politicians can complete combination of politics and personality value only by appraising right and wrong with a sense of compassion, uniting magnificent interest with generosity. But Sima Guang and his Yuanyou group lack this kind of quality. The imperfection of this kind of personality foundation makes them just belong to scholar-bureaucrats class and they forms a group to resist Wang Anshi political group. They do not resolve the land problem that relates to people＇s livelihood, actually they are also unwilling to resolve this problem, and so they only get ＂human dignity＂ in a cultural context. However, any dignity can become significant only by putting it in a context of social value.
