This paper describes the semi-submersible ship＇s basic concept, development status and key technology. With examples in development of semi-submersible ships, the paper narrates the application of some key technologies in detail and expounds the role of serial-submersible ships and the prospects for development of such ships in oceanic transportation industry, providing references for any businesses that plan to enter into this field.
