摘要
白银时代的罗马古典传记在英国的译介影响了英国传记的发展进程,它促使英国本土传记在人物形象塑造中重视对人物性格做细致入微的刻画并探究历史事实背后的深层次原因,从而推动传记成为一门独立的艺术,并为18世纪开始的传记繁荣奠定了基础,但也导致传记成为道德教化的载体,极大削弱了其客观性和特殊性。
Roman classic biographers of silver age influenced directly the evolvement of English biography.This influence contributed to the meticulous portrayal of characters and the exploration of ultimate factors of historical facts in English indigenous biography,thus enable it to become an independent art and laying the foundation for the biographical prosperity in the 18th century.This influence,however,helped biography become the tool of promoting moral models.As a result,the objectivity and particularity of biography were weakened to a great extent.
