摘要
"巴"既是古国名,也是古族名,既是古行政区划名,又是古地名。"巴"是怎么得名的,它的语源是什么?古往今来,见仁见智,众说纷纭。主要缘于看问题的角度与着眼点不同。有从语言文字角度入手的,有从民族学与民俗学入手的,有从对神话与传说分析入手的,有从图腾与徽记诠解入手的,还有学者从族源角度入手分析后认为,巴原本是一个多部族的通称。各种说法与诠解,"似乎都是揣测的成分居多"。由于资料的缺乏,我们不得不去"揣测"和探索,不能因为揣测的成分多了,就停止探索的脚步。这个问题的最终解决,有待考古材料和新发现。
The name Ba not only refers to an ancient country,an ancient tribe,it is also the name for an ancient administrative region and place.So what is the etymology of Ba？ What is the origin of this name？ In past and present,different people have viewed upon these questions with a great diversity of interpretations.And the difference is basically rooted in various angles and starting points which range from Philology,ethnology and folklore,to the analysis of myths and legends,the interpretation or annotation of totems and emblem,etc.And some scholars also hold an idea that Ba was originally known as the general name for several tribes.In fact,most of these opinions and interpretations are based on speculation.However,we have to speculate and investigate due to a lack of data,and we can＇t stop our exploration just because the elements of fact are much less.And the final revelation of Ba＇s etymology depends on more archaeological materials and new discoveries.
