Objective:To study the effect of task-oriented training on balance function and waking ability in stroke patients. Methods:Twenty stroke patients were assigned randomly to either experimental group(n=10) or control group(n=10).The experimental group received task-oriented training on lower limbs, and the control group received neurodevelopmental treatment on lower limbs.Subjects were assessed with 5-meter Walk Test (5m-WT),Berg Balance Scale(BBS) and Timed "up and go"(TUG) test before and 4 weeks after training. Results:After training for 4 weeks, both groups scored higher on 5m-WT and BBS and lower on TUG test than before training. There were significantly higher scores on 5m-WT and BBS and significantly lower scores on TUG test in experimental group than in control group.Conclusion:Task-oriented training was more effective for improving balance function of stroke patients.
