摘要
英诗之父乔叟在诗作中直接和间接表达了他基本的文学观。乔叟的文学思想既是他创作实践的总结和他毕生对英语诗歌发展所进行的思考,同时也深受中世纪主流文化、文学思想传统以及社会现实的影响。乔叟的文学思想涉及到文学本质、文学与生活、文学与语言、人物塑造、叙述者、悲剧以及文学的功能等许多方面。他的文学思想对英国文学理论的发展有重要意义。
Chaucer directly and indirectly expressed his view on literature in his poetical works. His literary view resulted from his reflection on his creative career and the development of English poetry. It was influenced by traditional medieval literary theory and social reality. Chaucer＇s literary view concerns the nature and other aspects of literature. His literary thinking has contributed to the development of English literary theory.
