摘要
在中国古代漫长的选官制度发展史上,通过科举考试选拔官员则是隋唐以来中国的一个创造。它从肇始至废除历经1300年,为隋唐以来的中国封建王朝提供了大量具有良好的儒学素养的高素质后备官员,亦对中国古代教育发挥重要作用,当然这一制度的负面影响不可低估。文章通过对科举考试发展演变历程的追溯,客观评价科举制度对中国社会及文化的影响,指出其负面影响。
In the history of evolution of ancient Chinese official selecting system,official selection through imperial examinations was really a creation of China since the Sui and Tang dynasties.During 1300 years from its establishment to its abolition,a large number of high-calibre official candidates well-versed in Confucianism were identified for the feudal courts,also promoting ancient Chinese education,but the negative effects of this system should never be underestimated.This paper intends to trace the historical development of imperial examinations and evaluate its tremendous influence upon Chinese society and culture,as well as its negative effects.
