受精是一个复杂的过程,特征表现为多个连续步骤的串联反应.主要包括精子获能,精子和卵黄膜融合,卵母细胞恢复并完成减数分裂Ⅱ及排出第二极体,精子和卵母细胞的核开始去凝集,雄性和雌性原核形成,此后不久配子融合完成.
Oocytes are exposed to sperm overnight (16-20 h) in conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. This long period of co-incubation, however, has been shown to create problems with high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which may affect embryo viability and cause hardening of the zona pellucida. Recently, several positive and negative effects of reducing the co-incubation time to 90-120 min have been reported. This review is to discuss the effect of short exposure of oocytes to sperm on the clinical outcomes of IVF and the related problems arisen in short gamete co-incubation.
