Road images are abundant in The Prelude,which run through all the epic.Through retracing his feelings and experiences in ＂the open schools＂ upon the roads,the poet clarifies the growth of his poet mind,illuminates a poetic life and,.expresses his desire to inspire the people he was writing for,to encourage them to return to a simple and pious life.
