摘要
虽然关于设计史、设计批评和设计理论的文章汗牛充栋，但往往因为关于设计的研究缺乏清晰的哲学观或者方法论基础，而难以出现深入研究后的专业成果。另外，设计门类相互分隔，设计在社会中的宽泛作用迄今没能得到很好的概念化，因而阻碍了设计在社会中成为一门综合性、系统性学科的进程。
The periodical'Design Issues'was established by the American scholar Victor Marglinetal in 1982.And as a periodical specializing in the study of design issues,it has been recognized as one of the most influential magazines around the world.The volume'Design Discourse:History·Theory·Criticism' collected the most classic and representative articles from'Design Issues' which contains the spheres of design history,design criticism,design symbol, design culture and so on.
