The character "hang" in the word "Taihang Mountain" should originally have the pronouncation of "xing". The "Taixing" was relevant to the "wuxing" , the motion of the five planets and had the meaning of Heaven motion. Thus,Taihang Mountain was the site where Heaven carried out his activities. Because the deed of meeting Heaven implied death, ancient people began to use the word "Taixing" as substitute for the word "death". "Taixingbo" in folktales and tombs was the god in charge of Taihang Mountain, and played the role of leading souls into Heaven's world. "Taixingren" and "Taixingling" were two official positions similar to "Taixingbo" in the way of responsibility and they all obtained meaning from the Taihang Mountain.
