概括介绍了华南广东、广西和海南三省（区）沿海县市全部６８个自然保护区，划分为自然综合体、野生动物、野生植物和森林公园等４种类型。分析了自然保护区的特点，指出自然保护事业有了良好的发展，但其面积尚小，而且不同地区发展不平衡很明显，广西发展较快，海南和广东发展尚嫌不足。
Some features of the total 68 nature reserves (including forest parks) in coastal counties and cities of Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province in South China are summarized. These nature reserves are divided into the following 4 types: 12 natural complexes, 16 wild animal nature reserves, 12 wild plant nature reserves and 28 forest parks. The development in natural conservation is making good progress. Dinghu Mountain Natural Reserve For South Subtropical Monsoon Rain Woods And Evergreen Broadleaf Forest, which was set up in 1956 and was the first nature reserve, has become one of the researching stations of the United Nations on ecosystem of “Man and Biosphere” program. The others, almost set up successively since the 1980s, are full of tropical rain woods landscape or south subtropical monsoon evergreen broadleaf forest landscape. Coral reef ecosystem, mangrove ecosystem, various birds, beasts, reptiles, amphibians, especially some rare animals and valuable plants, are well protected. The total area of the nature reserves in South China coastal zone is 9531 12 km 2, including 3776 12 km 2 of land and 5755 0 km 2 of waters, covering. 7 18% of the total area of the South China coastal zone. However, the land area of the nature reserves cover only 3 46% of the land area of South China coastal zone, which is relatively low. The developments of the nature reserves in different coastal zones are obviously disequilibrium. The percentage of the area of nature reserves to the total area of the lands and the shallow waters (<15m) in Guangxi coastal zone is the highest (16 47%), and is higher than the mean value of China; and that in Hainan coastal zone is the lowest(3 06%). That in Guangdong coastal zone (7 44%) is slightly higher than the mean value of China, but the land area of nature reserve area cover only 1 32% of the total land area of Guangdong coastal zone.
