The author explores the cause of decline of Chinese porcelain production since the end of 18th century from a global perspective. He argues that on the one hand, since 1500,the European expansion promoted the integration of the global market, which resulted in a great demand for Chinese porcelain products and ushered in a golden age that lasted for 300 years for Chinese porcelain industry, but,on the other hand,European countries practiced the armed trade and mercantilism, which provided its own porcelain industry with market, technology and policy support.Thereby European procelain industry gained an advantage over Chinese porcelain gradually.Ultimately, facing the loss of market, china businessmen went bankrupt in succession,Chinese porcelain industry began to decline.
