摘要
本文试图根据英语黏附词的属性和黏附组的定义来探讨黏附组在英语韵律结构层次中的地位。首先黏附组在语言普遍的韵律结构层次中的地位值得怀疑,因为不同语言的黏附词选择不同的韵律成分作为宿主;然后又从英语具体情况分析英语没有黏附组存在的确凿证据。
The thesis aims to explore the status of the clitic group in English prosodic hierarchy in terms of properties of English clitics and the definitions of the clitic group.First of all,the existence of the clitic group in language-universal prosodic hierarchy remains in doubt,since clitics in different languages choose different prosodic constituents as their hosts;then the author illustrates with English evidence that there is no convincing evidence in English for the existence of the clitic group.
