Objective: To investigate the expression ofangitotension Ⅱ type 1 receptor (AT1) in human non-small cell lung cancer and the correlation between AT1 expression in lung cancer and clinicopathological characteristics. Methods: The expression of AT1 were assessed by immunohistochemistry in 50 cases of NSCLC. Results: The expression of AT1 was localized in tumor-associated macrophages, whereas no clearly staining was found in lung cancer cells and macrophages in tumor lung tissues. The positive percentage of AT1 expression in tumor-associated macrophages was 32.0%. There was no significant relationship between AT 1 expression in macrophages and patients' age, sex, histology and differention (p〉0.05). AT 1 expression in macrophages was associated with lymph node metastasis and TNM stage (p〈0.05) . Conclusion: The present findings suggest that ATl might participate in the process of macrophages-related tumor progress and angiogenesis, partly associated with the prognosis of NSCLC.
