摘要
翻译是一种特殊的语言交际行为,即通过意义的语际转换而实现的交际活动。在以理解与表达为基本环节的翻译过程中,译者对原文的理解是否契合原文作者的思想,对于意义的语际转换及交际目的的实现具有决定性的作用。文章分析了客观主义语言学影响下的原文理解方法的不足:译者基于文本本身即可获得对原文的理解。基于认知语言学的识解理论,论述了认知与语言的关系,即语言表达的意义是说话者对情景的识解/概念化、语言结构体现说话者对情景的识解/概念化方式,文章认为译者对原文的理解本质上应是译者对原文作者基于情景的识解的解读过程。
Translation is a special form of linguistic communication,i.e.a form of communication realized via interlingual transfer of meaning.Of the two most basic components of the translation process,represented by comprehension and expression,the translator＇s comprehension of the source text（ST） is crucial as far as the interlingual transfer of meaning and success of communication are concerned.In this paper,the inadequacy of the traditional comprehension model as a result of the influence of the objectivism-based linguistics,according to which the translator can achieve the comprehension of the ST on basis of the ST proper,is analyzed.The relation between cognition and language is studied in the light of the construal theory of cognitive linguistics.In other words,meaning expressed by language is the speaker＇s construal/conceptualization of the scene and the linguistic structure reflects the speaker＇s particular way of construing or conceptualizing a scene.In the light of the construal theory,the paper argues that the comprehension component of the translation process is in nature a matter of interpreting the ST writer＇s construal of particular scenes.
