摘要
战争是英国新上任的桂冠诗人卡罗尔.安.达菲诗歌创作的主题之一。国内外学者大都聚焦于其诗歌所反映的性别、自我、身份等问题,而忽略了她的反战主题。达菲认为战争即悲剧。在"流星"一诗中,达菲采用魔幻现实主义的手法,让一位犹太妇人的亡灵打开尘封的记忆,以碎片式的叙事形式,借助"流星"、"戒指"、"强暴"、"弑婴"等象征隐喻,讲述了自己和他人在纳粹集中营所遭受的残害与蹂躏,揭露了战争的罪恶本质,表达了对人世间战火依旧不断,人们迅速遗忘了战争的残酷,继续淡漠生命的尊严所产生的深切忧虑以及对世界和平的渴望。诗中人鬼对话并非灵异巫术,而是诗人借助亡灵之口,表达反战的心声。
War is one of the central concerns of Carol Ann Duffy,a newly named Poet Laureate of the UK.Students both at home and abroad have attached their academic interests mainly to her feminist themes,namely,gender,Self and identity,etc.,paying less heed to her war poems which in a way reflect better her humanistic concerns.Duffy claims that war is tragedy,and in her poem ＂Shooting Stars＂,she makes a dead female Jew relate her terrible memories of the Holocaust in a fragmented way of narratives and through the key metaphors of ＂shooting stars＂,＂the wedding ring＂,＂rape＂ and ＂the slaughter of children＂ as well.These fragments of the past human sufferings lay bare the evil nature of Holocaust in the WWII but mean to the present when wars are still frequented,and slaughters are going on,and people are still apathetic to human life and suffering.It expresses the narrator＇s deep worries about the present situations and her prayers for world peace.It may be a Magic Realistic way to make the dead talk with the living;however,it does not mean a magic power in doing so,but means to show the anti-war attitudes of the poet through the voice of the dead.
