摘要
《吉檀迦利》是印度著名诗人泰戈尔的杰出代表作。本文仅从文化角度审视作品的深层含义。认为《吉檀迦利》既继承了美丽而新鲜的东方文明,又借鉴和吸收了西方文化的营养与精华,同时还自然地融合了东西方认同的宽容精神,使其作品具有深厚的文化底蕴。因而,泰戈尔登上诺贝尔文学领奖台是当之无愧的。
＂Gitanjali＂ is one of the most outstanding works by Tagore, a well-known Indian poet. This paper focuses on examining ＂Gitanjali＂ in a perspective of culture. It should be acknowledged that this representative piece by Tagore has inherited the beautiful and fresh characters of the Oriental culture and blended with the essence of the Western culture. Meanwhile, ＂Gitanjali＂ naturally expresses the merit of tolerance, which is highlighted in both the Oriental and the Western cultures. It is seen that this work is of profound cultural reserve. Therefore, Tagore deserves the Nobel Prize in literature.
