本文介绍了全光网的基本概念、分层结构、主要功能和发展趋势，说明了其与现有的ＳＤＨ／ＳＯＮＥＴ（同步数字体系／同步光网络）网相比体现出的优越性，并详细介绍了实现全光网所需器件的结构、功能及其关键技术。
The paper introduces the principle, structure, main function and future trends of all optical network (AON). It also shows the advantages of AON over the present SDH/SONET network. At last it introduces the structures and functions of some elements used in AON in detail, together with the key technologies.
