牛津大学哲学家格莱斯提出的会话含义理论是语用学中第二个重要的理论。在其语言学著作《逻辑与会话》的结尾部分,格莱斯简单地提到了会话含义的五个特征:可推导性、可取消性、不可分离性、不可确定性和非规约性。这些特征各有侧重,但又浑然一体,共同完善会话含义的理论体系。
The second major theory in pragmatics is the theory of conversational implicature,proposed by the Oxford philosopher Herbert Paul Grice.Toward the end of his linguistic work Logic and Conversation,Grice mentioned briefly the five characteristics of conversational implicature：calculability,cancellability,non-detachability,indeterminacy and non-conventionality.These five characteristics have their own particular emphases respectively but is also a one-integrated mass,which perfects the theoretical system of conversational implicature.
