摘要
牛仔精神产生于18世纪末至19世纪末的美国西部大开发,西部牛仔的开拓、吃苦及独立自主的精神更是对美国历史产生了重要的影响。牛仔精神作为美国人的精神支柱,鼓舞着美国人在不到一个世纪的时间开垦疆域,增强国家实力,同时也为美国的现代化之路铺平了道路,因此,这种力量是不容忽视的。
The cowboy spirit produced between the 18th century and the late 19th century in the United States,the spirit of enduring hardship and independence has an important influence to the history of America.To start with American ＂manifest destiny＂ concept,then discusses the rationality of the spirit,the cowboy spirit of Westward Movement and the impact of the spirit to American society.The spirit as a spiritual support not only encourages Americans in less than a century to reclaim territory,but also paves the way for the modernization of the United States.So this power can not be ignored.
