魏晋南北朝时期佛教高僧的知识结构与学风好尚

The Structure of Knowledge and the Style of Study of Dignitary Buddhist Monks in the Wei and Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties

摘要 汉末三国时期,佛教初传中国,佛教高僧多精通方术,以方术幻化吸引中国民众。南北朝时期,南方佛教高僧前期受玄学影响,谈玄之风甚盛,后期儒学礼教成为佛教高僧学习的重要内容;北方佛教沙门前期多重内典而不重儒学,后期则出现精通儒家经典的佛教高僧。到南北朝后期,南北佛教界都出现了三教合一的典型僧人。魏晋南北朝时期佛教高僧学风好尚和知识结构三个阶段的变迁,反映了佛教中国化的渐进过程。 In the period of the late Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms,most of the dignitary Buddhist monks learned to be skilled in the alchemy and magic in order to attract the common people;during the Western Jin and the Eastern Jin Dynasties,the dignitary Buddhist monks liked to discuss the metaphysics;in the period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Southern Dynasties,Confucianism were what they wanted to learn;in the early Northern Dynasty the Buddhists would learn Buddhist Scripture rather than Confucianism,while in the late Northern Dynasty some dignitary Buddhist monks had mastered the Confucian classics;in the late Northern and Southern Dynasties,the typical monks who had integrated themselves with the three religions had come into being.During the Wei and Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties,what the change of the structure of knowledge and the style of study of dignitary Buddhist monks reflected the process in which the Buddhist culture and the Chinese traditional culture had been unceasingly integrated.
