摘要
提出了一种高度可伸缩的视频编码系统,首先对图象序列进行时间、水平和垂直方向的三维小波分解,并采用改进的集合分区等级树算法(SPIHT)对小波系数进行量化。在量化过程中,对压缩比特流进行排序和重组,以便系统可根据需要从中抽取某些子集进行译码。本编码方案可提供帧率、空间分辨率和失真水平等的可伸缩性。
A new highly scalable video coding system is presented. The original video sequence is 3 D wavelet decomposed along temporal, horizontal and vertical orientations, and an extension of SPIHT algorithm is employed to quantize wavelet coefficients. The compressed bit streams are arranged in a specific order so that the decoder can extract the specific subsets from them depending on the different reqirements, such as frame rate, spatial resolution, distortion level, etc. The effectiveness of the video coding system is demonstrated.
