２１世纪师专生物教育专业面临着三大挑战：素质教育的挑战、人才培养模式的挑战、生源危机的挑战．其实质在于：对教师素质的挑战，对人才培养目标、规格、模式的挑战，对课程体系和教学内容的挑战．２１世纪师专生物教育专业应采取三大对策：构建“三结合”模式，提高教师素质；设立新型的培养目标、规格，构建“教育———经济”型人才培养模式；深化改革师专生物教育体系和教学内容，构建“三课一体”
