摘要
为了对独立主格结构这一较为复杂的语法现象加以全面深入的研究,从独立主格结构的定义入手,通过大量例句,总结了独立主格结构的基本形式、句法功能、特点及其翻译技巧,并对分词独立主格结构作状语与分词短语及状语从句作状语进行比较。分析表明,熟练掌握这一语法结构,有助于英语阅读、写作和翻译等综合能力的提高。
In order to have an overall and thorough study of the nominative absolute construction,this paper,start-ing with its definition and illustrating with ample examples,summarizes its basic forms,syntactic function,charac-teristics and translation techniques.Besides,comparison is made between participles in the absolute construction as adverbials and participle phrases as well as adverbial clauses as adverbials.The analysis shows that to have a good command of it is helpful to the improvement in English reading,writing and translation.
