摘要
语言的形成与发展与所处的自然地理环境密切相关。因此,每一种语言都可以在一定程度上反映出讲该语言的国家或者区域的自然地理特征。英国地理位置特殊,因此产生了一系列的体现英国地理位置和气候环境的表达,其中有很多已经演化为习语,至今仍在广泛使用。
There is a close link between the formation and development of a language and its natural and geographic environment. Thus, each language, to some extent, reflects the natural and geographic characteristics of the country or region where it is spoken. Because of the uniqueness of Britain＇s location, a series of English expressions are characterized with their location, productive activities, climate and environment. Many of them have evolved into idioms and are still widely used now.
