The paper describes the possible causes and harm on striking fire of generator excitation carbon brush in detail. It puts forward a set of practical methods for generator set on load to change excitation carbon brush according to actual working experience and operation regulations, and highlights the prevention on striking fire phenomenon of excitation carbon brush.
