摘要
多媒体技术和多处理器技术飞速发展,多处理器将在多媒体环境下用作服务器。当前的服务器不能内部处理多媒体通信,有效地给处理和存储子系统分配网络的高带宽,满足多媒体信息实时演播要求。讨论了3种规模可扩展、基于子系统的多媒体服务器系统结构,利用ATM互连机制解决这些问题。
With the rapid development of the technique of multimedia and multiprocessors, the next generation multiprocessors will be deployed as servers in a multimedia environment. Current servers cann't handle the multimedia traffic internally and effectively deliver the network's high bandwidth to the processing and storage subsystems. lt also cann't fill the need of realtime play of multimedia ioformation. ln this article, three scalable. subsystem-based, multimedia server architectures are discussed. These arthitectures use ATM to tackle the problems.
