Chemokines is the name of a large protein family, composed of more than 60 kinds of structurally homologous polypeptide, 80 -10kDa in size, in charge of recruiting white blood cell, primodial germ cell, metastatic cell, participating in inflammatory reaction, tissue development, and tumor angiogenesis. Recently, scientists have discovered a new type of receptor, and named as CXCR7. CXCR7 extensively distributes in many parts of body, including cartilage, heart, brain, spleen, kidney, and neoplastic cell. This receptor directly reacts with CXCL12 and CXCL11 to fulfill its function, like promoting cell migration, angiogenesis, the development, invasion, metastasis, and antiapoptosis of tumor cell. This review is going to elucidate how CXCR7 has been dicovered, and the structure, expression, distribution, function, finally the relationship between tumor and it.
