摘要
此项研究旨在比较本土教师和外籍教师在英语课堂上导致英语专业学生产生的焦虑的异同。研究对象为242名天津外国语学院英语专业学生。每位参与者回答两份名为"外语课堂焦虑量表"的问卷,其中一份针对本土教师的英语课堂,另一份针对外籍教师的英语课堂。研究者用SPSS软件中的配对样本t检验统计并分析收集到的数据,检验本研究的假设是否成立。通过统计分析,在调查表的各个维度上均未看到显著差异。但从细节上观察数据分析的结果可以发现,在交际恐惧维度中,英语专业学生在本土教师英语课堂上的焦虑高于在外籍教师英语课堂上的焦虑;而在考试焦虑和害怕负评价维度中,英语专业学生在外籍教师英语课堂上的焦虑高于在本土教师英语课堂上的焦虑。这激发了研究者对潜在的原因进行剖析并提出相应的课堂教学启示。
It is investigated the differences of English majors’ anxiety between native speaker(NS) and non-native speaker(NNS) instructors’ English classes.The subjects in the study are 242 students from School of English Studies of Tianjin Foreign Studies University.A pair of questionnaires named Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale(one is aiming at NS instructor’s class,the other NNS instructor’s class),is answered by all the participants.Then a comparison using a Paired-Samples t Test of SPSS is conducted.Based on the statistical analysis of the paired samples,there are no significant differences in each of the three dimensions in English majors’ anxiety between NS and NNS instructors’ English classes.However,in detailed observation on the data,higher communication apprehension and lower test anxiety and fear of negative evaluation are found for students in their NS instructors’ English class.This inspirits the researcher to investigate potential causes of the differences and develop some meaningful pedagogical implications.
