摘要
薛凤祚是明清之际中西会通大潮中承前启后的重要学者。经世致用的实学思想使得薛凤祚的学术思想向更为广博的文化领域和农、工、兵、商等具体应用学科拓展,他沉潜于百工之技的研究中,讲之不厌其繁,行之不嫌其贱,这实际上将理学家"为生民立命"的实学理念真正落到了实处。在会通中西学术的方法上,他不斤斤计较于以夷变夏还是以夏变夷,而是兼收并蓄,"熔各方之材质,入吾学之型范"。在处理"象"和"数"的关系上,薛凤祚继承了徐光启"由数达理"的科学思维方法,比较系统地论述了数学在一些学科领域中的应用,使得中国传统的象数观念具有了走向近代科学发展的倾向。
Xue Fengzuo made great contributions to merging Chinese and Western sciences.In terms of the integration of Chinese and Western scientific methods,he adopted all advanced technology for our own progress,instead of only adhering to Chinese or Western method.He inherited Xu Guangqi’s concept of "putting the mathematic principle into the experimental science",making the traditional Chinese concept of "xiang" and "shu" have the features of modern science.Though his research fruits were not respected by people in his time,his approach is still very important in scientific thought research of traditional culture under the cultural globalization.
